this is LA RIGGIOLA, founded by Luisa Martorelli in 2005.
LA RIGGIOLA works very closely with the best artisans from the Amalfi Coast in the South of Italy, a source of fantastic HANDMADE and handpainted tiles after the ancient CERAMIC TRADITION from Vietri Sul Mare, in the sunny South of Italy. The centuries-old TRADITION in the ceramic handcraft is named the “Vietri System” and is a concept that already existed and became appreciated since the end of the 18th century.
Today, the colours are still mixed and created by the EXPERIENCED Vietri’s masters, and their recipe is kept SECRET and only transmitted from one generation to another in order to obtain the most original and SPECIAL SHADINGS.
The patterns inspired from the Classic World (ie. POMPEI’s excavations) constantly surprise for their timeliness and the most MODERN ones struck for their BEAUTY and originality, which reveals the long tradition that has contributed to generate them. Our tiles are GLAZED and do not require any treatment prior or after setting.
